Audio Tape Transfer

Anyone who still has reel to reel tapes these days has a treasure. In the past, only important recordings were played on tape reels – for example particularly beautiful concerts, the child’s first words or other audio documents that should not be lost in the flow of time. However, tape reels are subject to deterioration and constant degaussing (demagnetization). They only last a limited time. If you want to save the valuable tape recordings for eternity, the only way is to digitize them and save them on a modern storage medium such as a hard drive.

If you’re planning to have your audio reels digitized, Film Rescue International could be your partner. We can also save your analogue audio tapes. We make your memories usable and audible on your computer, device or your hifi music system with special audio restoration software.

Reel to reel (check the speed and track form before order)

Audio Cassettes (Speed 4.75 and 9.5 cm)

Micro Cassettes, Sony Elcaset (on special request)

Important notice:
Make sure you own the rights to your audio content. Film Rescue cannot copy content that infringes the copyright of third parties.

Film Rescue International offers MP3 / 320kbps for download.
You can order lossless audio formats like AIFF, WAV or FLAC on HDD on special request.

Audio tape to MP3 Digital file: 16.00 USD per hour or less, per tape.

Minimum 32.00 charge.

Audio tape conversions are charged at a rate of 16.00 per hour of tape, with a new hourly charge starting with each tape or side. 

Film Rescue will charge a 10.00 inspection fee for every tape that is blank or can’t be converted because the content infringes copyright or the tape is in too compromised a condition. Tapes that need extensive repair or splicing may incur a surcharge for bench time required.
